What ever happened to 1st Free scheduled service?
Ok so its been a long time since I bought a new bike (13 years). Last time I did though, the 1st 1000 klm (600mls) was a freebie, sure you paid for the oil. There is a lot BS that they reckon they do at this time (some may even do it), check the bike over etc. But I know mainly they don't, but at least you walked away with your warranty booked stamped & free oil filter.
Never been a biggie on dealership servicing, but I was surprised, here anyway, that they now charge for this, it ain't a nominal fee either, quoted $340 by my the Honda dealer. And considering the last major service I had on the F3 (shims, carbs, oil & fluids) was a tad over $400, (non dealership) I thought a bit over the top.
So what happened? Is it the same were you are? are the buggers that hard up for cash.
