Default Scheduled Service

I have a nagging question, is the scheduled servicing as outlined in the Owners guide worth the money/necessary? A coworker has an 07 GSXR 750 and has put 20,000 miles on it and he's always just done the oil changes himself and never had it checked by the stealership. I'm about to bring my baby out of hiding from the forced exit of the year round riding season in Texas (rear tire had cords showing and couldn't afford new shoes till now). On Friday, I have an appt at the dealer to get my new tires put on, and wondering if I should fork up the 150 bones to have the service done or not? Input/opinions would be much appreciated.

Default RE: Scheduled Service

hmmm services like cars are usually WAY over priced hence the term "stealership" most guys prob change oil themselves, at least i do anyway? for more important things ie valve adj, brakes etc, ill prob bring her in. If you have full war left be sure to keep reciepts etc. RE tires, if you can at least take tireoff and bring to them, or at least ask what the diff would be vs just bringing it in etc. Good luck

if your bike has enough miles on it to need new tires then i wouldn't have a dealership do your service when you can do it at home

the only service that needs to be done by a dealer is your first service, it's the one where you'd find anything that needs to be a warranty repair
