just got a 02 954, great bike up to press, but having the only way i can describe it it when i apply power from idle it feels as though the bike is taking up chain slack then accelerating, which results in a power jerk, its not chain slack so any ideas?

 

sounds like a bad clutch. but lemme get this straight. this happens when you are in gear, with the clutch pressed about to take off or something right? if this is thecase it sounds like a clutch to me.

 

no, already riding and doesn't matter which gear im in. eg- going in to a corner with no throttle the coming out i apply power and it jerks instaed of smooth power delivery, which is a little frightening coming out of a fast corner.

 

What mods are on the bike? Power commander,exhaust,at what rpm is it happening?

 

no mods, stock bike, and from idle cruising along then as soon as i apply power, it then feels like the bike is taking up chain slack before driving the rear wheel, hence the jerk.

 

be smoother on the throttle and learn to trail brake

 

What does trail braking have to do with his surging?
