Bike now starts right up. I over tightened the wire and it somehow caused the starter to not function properly. I will get a video up tomorrow.

Start-up video for ya guys. I do have a question though. Is it normal to throw smoke like this with the flapper, pair, htev, and exhaust baffle all removed? Do you think that tuning will help remove the smoke? The bike has tons of power and pull and runs and rides great. Just blows smoke and that has caused some concern for me. Temperatures and coolant levels are all good as well (except for a tiny leak on the water pump seal, new seal will be on the way.) Battery is weak also in the video.

Thanks guys. I am happy with it. My headlight will be in tomorrow and I can finish everything off and get it done. Saturday and Sunday I will be putting some miles on her.

Great job! I love the forks, mine are black as well. I love the bed-lined frame/subframe/etc. take some good pics of everything when your headlight comes

I remember your first couple of posts and pics of the bike. The head was pulled off, and everything was stripped down. It's great to see it come together, enjoy those first couple of miles. They'll be special.

Yup you were there from the beginning and it has been a long journey. It has really come along since last year. I am glad it did not start back then and I decided to strip it down as far as I did. The timing was definitely the reason it would not start. I still need to put on my Ohlins decals as well as the decals for the top of my forks. I will also need to set my sag and get the suspension dialed in some more.

So a little update on my bike. It is pretty much done and I have been riding it as much as I can. The bad is that she is a smoker and I can not live with that especially since it looks so good. So the engine is going to have a complete overhaul this winter with all new bearings, seals, main bolts, rings, upper case re coat by US Chrome, and piston skirts and tops coated by US Chrome. The head is getting a good valve job, re surface, and a mild port job to smooth out the casting marks. I have other plans for the winter also but as long as the engine is done I will be fine with the bike the way it is.

It's probably valve seals or something simple - but an engine overhaul will be awesome.

Have you been able to see how much (or if) oil you're burning up?
