How can you guys stand so many settings, i had a Scotts once and thats what i didnt like about it. I got a Storz now, it has 10 settings, i can go from moderate to stiff in like 2 seconds, thats the kind of response i like, i dont wanna have to turn a **** for 1 mile before a hard corner.

ironhead: i wish i could sell you my matris! it's in perfect condition. but a "friend" has it, swore he would give me the money. and now i cant get ahold of him. i took it off my 929 when i bought it, because i like the scotts better. and here is why:

i wrecked my 954 a year and a half ago. bike is ****ed, frame is twisted, and upper triple tree was totally missing. a week after the wreck i went back to where it happened, and laying on the side of the road, was the remnants of the upper triple, with the scotts still attached. it was scraped up on a couple corners, but still worked excellently. i bought a new mount for it, and it's now installed on my 929/954 frankenstein bike. not even a leak, and still performs perfectly, after many, many miles and stoppies

(and i dunno about other dampers, but with my scotts i keep it between full hard and 4 clicks shy of full hard)

Scotts has the high speed valving that is always working for you.The damperis fine tuneadjustable with a whole different set of valves for all you other damping needs. I have one on my 03', I am a mountain twistie rider and I love it.

If I am not mistaken, the Hyperpro offers the same active dampening, correct?

you sir, are correct.... And what everyone fails to mention is you need to remove a cap and use a small flat head to adjust one of the settings on the scotts...

I beleive the Hyperpro has active dampning though, so it probably is better than mine. For an average rider i dont know if its 2x the price better or not, but for 240 thats a good price, pretty sure i paid like 380 for mine when i got it a few years ago.

scotts' high speed damping is adjustable with the flathead, under the cap. for most people, you enver have to mess with that setting (i haven't had to and i am a stunter, ie: long stoppies) scotts also has low speed damping adjustability for just theleft or right side only (another flathead on the side of the unit)...
scotts is made by ohlins.. how could you go wrong?!
