Default Ignition problem

I recently swapped the ignition because i broke my key. I bought a used OEM replacement. I plugged it in and nothing. No power whatsoever. Do i have to reset the ecu in order for it to work? Or did i get beat on a faulty igniti okkn switch?

Are you in the USA? Bikes from other countries have HISS.

There is a resistor in the switch that steps down voltage to 9V on the pink wire as a security measure. Make sure that's good.
You shouldn't need to reset anything.

Since it has the HISS system, the ECM needs to match the key and ignition.

All the matching parts will cost more than the bike.... Any way to salvage your original ignition?

i still have the original ignition. The wires have been cut. Im pretty sure it has HISS, BUT, the key it came with is just a cut key from a locksmith. There is no chip in it. Maybe it doesnt have HISS? I looked up the VIN and its a Japanese bike if that means anything. Why no power? Shouldnt it at least power up and prevent the pump from priming?

Hi does your ignition look like this, (as regards the wiring) or does it have 3 wires (Hiss) with immobiliser
