Default Making the best better

The CBR 900RR is arguably the most comfortable sport bike ever BUT I was wondering if anyone has ever installed bar raisers and did the corrisponding fairing mod.

Never heard of the fairing mod...what is that?

Comfort wise, my 900rr is the same way it left the factory, no bar riders, etc.

i have seen the fairing mod and by god it looks ugly! taking out most if not all of the top fairing arms where the mirrors sit and re-siting them forward. take out part of the screen as well. i'd stick with the standard set up unless doing a streetfighter look. i removed the locating pegs on the bars that fit inside the top yoke. gave me a bit more of a straighter look but sometimes gets in the way of the clocks.

Good idea, I hadn't thought about lowering the seat. And SAS1810 when you said you removed the locating pegs you must mean how the clip-on part that goes around the forks and bolts to the triple clamp is now just clamped around the fork but can be adjusted?

Thats right Russ. it doesnt give you a lot but just enough to make less pressure on your wrists. have to be carefull how far you go as it hits clocks on full lock, but slight adj of clocks sorted that out.

OK I cut off the locating pins. I am guessing you rotated the bars back towards the tank. Can't go too far as the bars hit the tank and can't get the bars to lock for security sake. Do I have that right?

i moved mine away from the tank. rotates the lever brackets slightly and re-tighten. you get full lock that way but fingers may just touch the fairing or clocks. a small price to pay for a bit more comfort. takes fine adjto find your best place. but a slight movement forward/out from tank, you will notice it.
