900 Charging
Your stator charges the battery while the bike is running. Its the engine cover on the left hand side of your bike. Underneath your seat there is a device called a rectifier, that prevents the stator from overcharging your battery and frying your electronics. If your bike is undercharging then most probably your stator is buggered. It looks like a circular coil that is bolted directly to the cover of the stator cover. It is held there magnetically by the flywheel so take care when removing. To find your rectifier, just follow the cable that comes from the stator and that plugs directly into your rectifier with three cables with yellow ends.
i am having the same problems with my 95.a few weeks ago the stator, rectifier were replaced with some used parts.week later was dead again then the stator, rectifier and battery were all replaced with new parts.this morning i went out and dead again. i managed to get it to start and put a meter on it and its only charging at 11 v. is there something else i can check that may be killing one or the other?
one other thing...a few days ago after riding i went to park the bike in the garage.i turned it off got off opened the door then got back on to put it in.i tried to start it but it was wouldnt start.the horn headlights and such still worked fine was like the start switch was bad.after checking it out i had no power at the switch.the next morning i went out to do some more troubleshooting and the bike started right up.was doing fine untill now.anybody have any ideas?

Hey Tislow361
When you checked with the meter, did you rev it up to about 5000rpm? You cannot check the voltage on the idle as the flywheel doesnt spin fast enough to get a good charge. Have a friend keep it at 5000rpm and then check what the battery reading is. That should be around 14v. If its higher then the rectifier may be faulty. If its still hovering at 11v then something is up with the stator. I see that you have replaced them all but its worth checking everything again. If everything is good and works then there is somehting wrong with the way that are connected.
