Camchain service life?
Taking the head off of my RRN and was thinking of changing the camchain. But ......... do I need to? Apart from being a good idea as the head is off it isn't causing a problem and I haven't seen any information anywhere as to whether the camchain has a 'service life'. Has anyone? Is it recommended (by Honda) to replace them after a certain mileage? (The one in the engine has about 40K miles on it).
The CCT is new and I'll check the tensioner blades when I get them out but the chain ...?? Any information appreciated.

Hi Dave,
There is not a service life. There are people on this site who have had their clutches last over 200K miles, much less a cam chain. I don't think I'd give it a second thought unless it was blatantly obvious that something was wrong with it.

Thanks!
