Whats up everyone

I just have one quick question and this question is not meant to start debates or tick anyone off. The question is geared towards me finding out if what i bought for my bike will give me any improvements or will it hurt my bike.

I just received a K&N air filter for my bike as a gift and was wondering whether or not if it is a sound product. I have heard mixed reviews about this particular air filter but non were specific to the 900RR most were geared towards newer bikes with FI. Could someone please give me an opinion that is geared towards the 900RR.
