Just an update.. I never did find one... they are only available with the headlight and it seems that most places I have found with used parts will only sell it with the headlight assembly. The bulb is pretty secure using a piece of foam and the rubber piece and harness plug hold it all together fine. It doesnt move around.. but in the back of my mind I would rather have it 'right'. Since I'm not dying for one.. I found a place that has a retaining clip for a Polaris snowmobile.. and since that uses the same P43T base as the H4 that our F4s use.. why not take a chance on it.. it should be here in a few days.. hopefully I'll try it out and update this thread.

I'm posting this to help people that search in the future...

From what I can see on mine it looks the same as the clip for the Headlight on all 92-00 Civics. Probably have more luck going to an actual car wrecking yard where you could probably just grab it off a vehicle that had been in a front end accident where the rest of the HL housing is no good.

excellent info! I did some quick searching and clip (and even the large rubber cover) look pretty much the same.. that makes sense for Honda to use the same stuff...

I did have success with the part I bought. It is Polaris part #4032063 for a Polaris snowmobile. I had to slightly tweak it but it fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I was also missing the retaining screw... so I had to test out whatever leftover hardware I had.. In the end, I got it all in there working fine.. I'd like the screw to be a bit tighter on the clip swing side, but its okay.

it cost me just under $5 shipped for the clip.

Glad you found a replacement!

I could use one too. Where did you buy it from? What did you need to tweak?

I got it on ebay.. just type in "polaris" and "403206" and it should come up just under $5 shipped. I can get you the seller's id if you need it.. I had to slightly bend the clip side so it would sit better in the housing.. 5 seconds with pliers.. they dont give much though.. the clip is pretty HD.
