Default RE: Has anybody replaced the CCT??

I recently took of my CCT to get to another part. the thing will not go back in! please help!! it hits the internal part (a hardend lever that hits the chain cam i suppose) and remains about 1" to far from installing on the head. that is... it won't mount flush... the screws wont even start. what to do? i figure that the motor may neet a turn or something. please help. thanks

Frank, did you pull the key out of the back of the cctl be fore you installed it? If so, you have to pull it apart, preload the spring, reinstall the key and put it back together before you install it in the head. It's a pain in the ***, but it can be done by hand or you can buy a new one. Once you have installed it in the head, then you can pull the key out of the cctl.

If you haven't pulled the key out yet, check that the cam chain is riding properly on the slider (just use a flashlight and a clean flat head screw driver). If that checks out ok... I dunno man.
