CBr 600 f4 gas light problem
#11
yea unfortunately the fuel reserve sensor is under the tank. it shouldn't take you all that long to get the tank off. it's literally 8 bolts. two on the plastic fairings then two near the tripple tree (8mm socket) then two under the seat (12mm?) once those are off take a bungle cord and attach it to the front mounting holes of the tank then the other side to a part of your frame near the back this will hold it up for you so you can disconnect the terminals from the fuel reserve sensors. next your going to want to "short" the terminals. i used a paperclip stuck them in the terminals and grounded them to the frame. wait 30 seconds or so if your fuel light comes on then its your fuel reserve sensor. it normally takes about 30 seconds so the light doesn't flicker when the gas is sloshing around in your tank when your cornering and what not. if the light does not come on you either have wiring issues or the circuit board is bad. if your speedo, neutral light, oil light ect work then chances are its not the circuit board.
does anybody know where to get a replacement fuel reserve sensor for a decent price? Honda is asking for 70 bucks which seams a bit high.
