Starting your bike in gear

My F3 wont start in gear either, Neutral only. I've always thought it was weird.

Your bike will start in gear. But to do so, the clutch lever must be pulled in and the side stand must be in the upright and locked position (a little airline humor, there is no locked position).

Yep, sounds like a clutch switch. Pull off the wires and check for continuity with the clutch pulled in... and then out.

Nope. Mine does not.

hah idk.... ill pull the wires apart hopefully tomorrow and check them. Maybe it just went bad somehow when i replaced my clutch cable.

Well, I guess then the decision is, do I want to figure out why and fix it.

I'd want to know why, who cares if it's fixed or not, since starting for N is safer anyway...

Until you have that day you muck up at the light and stall the bike and then you need to suddenly go.

Make sure the clutch is pulled in all the way (not just 2 finger but 4 finger it).

Check your clutch sensor with a multimeter.
