If you use the FI light for kickstand, then the green/white is not connected to anything.

So I'm trying to understand why exactly won't the f3 temp sensor work?? Isn't it just an electrical connection? Why can't u just connect the f3 wire to the f4i temp wire?

the sensor isnt the same. it will read an incorrect temp.
i think mine was about 155* during the winter and would *overheat warning* after being on for about 30 seconds.

if you want a correct reading, you need to buy an 900rr temp sensor and directly replace the last one, or instead, do what i did in my signature and make an in-line replacement.

So what size bolts are needed for the three mounting points?

No the gauge. Or are they screws?

I think they were screws. I just took some normal wood screws, cut off the first inch or so because it was too long and threaded it into the back of the gauge in the mounting holes.

I followed this guide F3 to F4I Gauge Swap | Universal Japanese Motorcycles > How / DIY it appears to be a direct copy and paste from cbrworld's how-to. I made my bracket out of stock aluminum and bought some 6 pin connectors to make everything easy to take apart. Everything works great and my speedo is right on with no speedohealer!
Great mod to do.

okay so I did the swap and wired everything together with only the green/white wire left over (fuel indicator) and when i twist the throttle it stops (bogs down) and basically dies when i hit 4k rpms. I grounded the pink wire to the left over green wire from the F3 harness, but is that not a sufficient ground? I looked at the F3 wiring diagram and it shows the pink wire going through a "speed sensor" in the F3 gauges.

anyone else have this problem?

I did the swap. I did it because my old gauges quit working. I put F4i gauges in. The speedo and tach still don't work. I haven't been able to figure out why?
