F3 to F4i Gauge Swap
well then its working fine.
if you have a main power line from the battery to the power lead for the gauge cluster, and it's still staying a 2k, then you might have to open it up and see if something is messing it up physically inside, because it shouldnt matter where the needles is off, it should reset itself every time you turn it on.

I dunno Morgan, I've had 2 f4i gauges, one had the rpm at 2k and it cleared once the power was added to the gauges and it works normally... it never goes up when the bike is off... either the gauges are messed up or the wiring.
Did someone know what is happen with the air vent valve after this swap? You say to ground the pink wire, that means that the valve is all the time open. I checked on the wiring diagrams and I see that the valve is controled by the original gauge by one relay.
after the swap my bike reves out at 7 grand it does not do it when the clutch is pulled in im just wondering if its something to do with the cluster if anyone else had this problem i would like to know what the fix is for it thanks
Did you ground out the pink wire? Around 7k is when I noticed my bike would bog before I grounded it. Just a thought....
I did what you said by running a ground wire strait from the battery to the pink wire. It dont do it as bad but it still does it so im still trying to figure out what is going on if anyone else has any input or has this problem maybe we can figure something out.
To anyone whom has successfully done the 900rr thermo swap. When you turn on your moto does the light still pop up and you get a - on the digital readout? My bike isnt currently running so I dont know if it will work properly when I actually start it or if this is normal. Please and thank you
yeah the light is going to pop up and a dash will be present on the screen until the bike is running...once the bike is running the light will go out..don't worry about the readout staying as a dash(got me at first too) the readout will stay a dash until the sensor reads roughly about 95 degrees then keeps up from there
