did you install an inline fuse to the wire going to the battery? is it possible whatever the spiked could have messed the gauges up?

You don't say which wire's are left over, F3 harness or F4i guages.

F4i's Brown/Black - fuel reserve sensor - not used

Been awhile since I did mine, so, not sure on the other you mentioned.

Ok, then I think you're good to go.

On a side note, here's a cool site that will hook you up with the 2 sets (male/female)
of 9-pin connectors to make it a plug and play/factory-like set-up.

OEM-Type Bullet & Spade Electrical Connectors for 1960's through 1970's Japanese Vehicles... Bridgestone, Datsun, Hodaka, Honda, Kawasaki, Landcruiser, Suzuki, Tohatsu, VW, & Yamaha

Hope it all works out, Ern

To set clock. Turn on the key. Hold the 2 buttons down until the time flashes. Then use each button to set the hours & minutes. Then turn off the key.
To set mph-kph, do the same as before, only press and hold the top button.

as far as the rest of what you said. I do not understand. just do the swap as per the instructions. they are proven.
