Cranks but wont fire
So, I have my 1997 F3.* It sat at my buddy's house in California for about 9 months with old gas in the carbs.* I finally was able to have it shipped out here to me in Louisiana because I wanted to start using it as a track bike.
*
Ive had nothing but problems ever since I got it down here.* As soon as I rolled it off the truck getting it here, it would crank but not fire.* I took it to my local shop and they said they couldnt do anything with it, so the same day I take it home, put a new battery, new 93 oct gas with some seafoam in it.* After cranking it for a while, and messing with the idle adjust, I finally got it to fire up.* I took it for a ride, prob about 20-30 minutes of stop and go and highway riding.* As soon as I get it a block from my house it starts to sputter and die.* Now it wont fire up again, so I let it sit for a couple days and finally decide to take it back to the shop for another go.* The day I take it back to the shop, I get it to fire up, but it starts spewing fuel out of the overflow line.* So, take it to the shop and it sits for a few days before they get to it and when they do...it fires right up for them and no leaking fuel.* So they call me and I tell them to go ahead and do whatever they need to do, money is no option, I just want it to run right.* They call me a week later after changing out the spark plugs, telling me its good to go.
*
Ride it home from the shop, no problems.* A week later, go take it for a short 5 minute ride, and it sputters and dies as soon as I get it in the driveway.
So far, the guys at my local shop said the carbs were clean and filter was fine.
Any input please.
