Hey guys Ive got a question. I pulled the hoses of one of the small inline air filters under the tank and there was a good amount of black "gunk" inside. Was that engine oil? What could this be from?

if you live on dirt roads like i did i would say just dirt build up that has gotten wet.

 

I just found the same stuff in my inline filter (the two smaller ones, The big one still had a good looking piece of foam in it which im assuming is what the smaller ones should look like.) The black gunk in mine was dirt, bugs,sand and little pieces of wet foam. Its probably not oil in the filter, look at the lines leading in and out of it, mine were coated with a light brown layer of dirt. I would pull the main air filter and make sure eveything is still clean in there. Hopefully you wont find a mess like I did. The inside of my air box and carbs were lined with the same black gunk.
