Backfire, Cold Start Issue, Running Rich?
i have been reading the forum to try to find some answers about a few problems i am having with my 1997 F3...
I bought it with a bad regulator/rectifier and replaced it with a new upgraded Honda part.
New Plugs, Wires, Cleaned Carbs, New Jets (DynoJet StgI 140's outside, 142's inside carbs), New Float Needles, New boots
The bike has a K&N filter and Slilp On SBK exhaust.
I synched the carbs recently and it idles better warm, but when i go to start it cold, it has problems staying on and and backfires
sometimes when i cruise in neutral or come to a stop. I set the pilot screws turned all the way in and have also tried a 1/2 turn out, with the same results. Checked for vacuum leaks, the carb boots look new. The only thing i noticed was that the previous owner had bypassed the DAI air valve. Not sure if i have a california model either, would it make a difference in jet size settings?
Also, i run 93oct fuel, would that make a difference?
Any ideas?
