Default Running Rich, hard to start when warm?

So love the bike lots of power, more then i need, two things under 3000rpm feels like runs and after 3000rpm just crusing it runs free'r and faster? the other thing after riding, i turn it off to turn it back on i have to open the throttle a bit then it will start and smell rich? the bike has 4400miles and all stock, is the pgmfi like a car, if i unplug the batt and plug back would it change n e thing?

Unplugging the battery wont reset the pcm or do you any good. These bikes do tend to be a bit sluggish under 4000 rpm's as well. However you should never need to touch the throttle to start it. I know my bike when it was colder out if i rev'ed it up or anything before the temp was above 120 degrees on the gauge i could foul out my plugs. Even though your mileage is low you may just be in need of a change, heck if they are stock they have been in there for 8 years.

I always have to open up the throttle when starting cold or if it's been sitting for awhile. Especially if the battery is somewhat drained. But I've never had to mess with throttle on 2nd start or there after.
