Talked to the local shop. Going to buy the new starter along with a new stator cover. I looked at the pinion gear that turns the cs and it doesnt look bad. Maybe 2 or 3 teeth show some signs of being stripped but look like they can definitely hold. Lets hope this is the solution guys.

Bought both parts today. Salvage yard even gave me a chrome cover because it was all they had lol. I slapped the new ones on and the bike started right up. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Just curious, what did you pay for your two parts? And did you buy the entire starter or was the stripped pinion a separate part?

I paid 75 for the starter (pretty high if you ask me because you can find them for around 40 on ebay) and 30 for the cover. And now i have to replace fouled plugs since it doesnt stay started now lol. So add 25 for those too
