Ok so i was working on my bike today and was making some adjustments to the shifting rod. And after that was done....noticed that when the bike was in neutral....when i would roll foward at all it would click into gear...also the neutral light is never on.......so i put everything as far as shifting back to stock...and it still did it...any ideas? the bike has been sitting for a few months without being ran....could that be it?

 

If you have the PDF service manual, Troubleshooting Transmission starts on 11-1 (pg93).

Though it's slipping into gear instead of out, I'd probably check the same things in the list of Trans. Jumps Out Of Slots.
