Well, good news and bad news, my buddy wants to buy my bike. At first he wanted me to put tires, chain & sprockets then buy it for 3500. Well I bargained a little with him and told him I would fix the small stuff like the throttle tube, put the grip and bar end on, clean the carbs (maybe), put the fuel filter on, put the axle in, for 3500. He said deal, so I went to see if I could get another loan. So we will see.

But I was at the parts store today picking up the axle and bolt, well they had a box of discounted stuff. Well in it was a chain and sprockets, so I took it up to the parts desk and asked what kind of bike it was for. Well it turns out the chain fits my bike and the sprockets are for a 93 to 02 Ninja. The guy said it was around 220 bucks new. The chain was around 110 or 120. Well I get the whole thing for 53 out the door.

Here is a pic. Did I get a good deal? I will post some pics of the stuff later. Where should I try to sell the sprockets?

Got the carb out lastnight, ordered new sprockets yesterday (went with 530 stockers).

Cleaned the carbs today, also got the new throttle tube on today.

What type of grease do I use for the front axle?

All I need is new tires and put the sprockets and chain on, also the fuel filter. (i think?)

The new sprockets are in, probably going to pick them up Thursday. Ended up costing 64 out the door.

Do you guys have any other suggestions? I just got into powder coating so I think I am going to powdercoat the midpipe black. They have some hi temp thats good to 1300F or something like that.

Suggestions would be great.

BTW how hard will it be to do the chain and sprockets?

Not looking forward to buying new tires. $$$

Im surprised on how dirty the carb was seeing that I just cleaned it in August 08. I ripped it apart much more in depth compared to last time. I was a bit weary the first time but I pulled the 2 jets (i think thats what they are) idle and I think main? Correct me if im wrong.

What is the one on the bowl covers? That screw thingy was dirrrrrty!

I think that chain ^^^^ should look pretty nice with the HO and black. Still need to pull the bike out on a sunny day and see what the white pearl looks like.

My buddy has these tires on his R6, says he likes them. 260 plus shipping.

My 2cents is that you should just use black exhaust bandage (racier)
but powdercoat would maybe be easier to keep clean.

I went with the JT sprockets, it was either that or star something (not sure on the exact name)

They had some lube that will work for my front axle on sale. $2! woot!

Here is a pic of the stock bar ends I just powder coated. Not bad for my first time!

I wrote things down tonight when I was at work, super bored! Here is what I need to buy and the things I still have to do.

Things to buy: (prices are just approximate)

Oil change $30
Tires $260
Muffler repacking kit $25
Front blinker bulb $2
Stickers $30

Things to do:

Install bulb
Mount tires
Finish & install blinkers (re nightshading them)
Change oil
Torque everything
Install chain & sprockets
Install rotors & calipers
Bleed brakes
Plastics back on
Repack muffler
Install carbs
Wetsand & wheel whole bike
Clean the frame
Tank pad
Front axle
Fuel filter
Midpipe clamp
Stickers

Pretty sure thats everything.....

Got the stupid midpipe off, sandblasted it today. Should be powdercoated next tuesday.

Unfortunately Eastwood is out of hi temp black powder so I had to get a dark charcoal, hope it looks ok, I am probably going to do the muffler too, dont know if I want to do the ends or what.

So I feel like im talking to myself on here guys come on!

I went to the dealership today and I got a price on new wheel bearings for the front and back, figured im going to have the rims and tires off why not have some cheap insurance...

well thats not the case it is EXPENSIVE insurance!

50 bucks seem right for all the wheel bearings?

Geez am I ever going to have extra money to get some tires???

Also I got a repacking kit for the two bros and I drilled out all the old rivets and the ends wont budge at all, I was wacking it pretty hard with a rubber mallet, nothing.

Any suggestions on anything???

Help would be appreciated
