I had trouble with the throttle tube too. I cant remember how i did it did you take the bottom of the run switch cover off? you might have to take the tank off and loosen the cable nuts on the carbs.

What i had to do with getting the throttle tube on there is take the whole assembly off, meaning you take off the c clip from the fork and slide the assembly all the way off. From there you loosen both screws that hold the starter switch together. You can adjust the cable length from the carb (which I have never done) or you can adjust from the 2 fittings that thread into the bottom of the switch housing. The fitting on the back of the switch has a fixed length, so you cannot change that. In order to give more slack in the cable, you must thread the front fitting more into the housing. If you want less slack, you thread the fitting out. It took me a few times to adjust it properly, not the best method, but definately the easier method in my book.

O and you also have to disconnect the 2 connectors that go underneath the gauge cluster, they are both red connectors for me and lead from the starter switch so there is no mystery. Most likely going to have to take off the headlight assembly as well (2 bolts so no biggie)

If you cant get enough slack from that method you must adjust from the carb, which i was too much of a ***** to try

Thank you very much for that info! Very helpful!

I might just end up trying to disconnect it from the carb since I have to clean that anyway, So I guess that leads me to another question, I dont want to clean the carb if I am going to have to do it again before spring. If I clean it now will it be ok until spring? Should I start it or leave it cleaned out then start it in the spring?

Looks good I want to paint my F2 but am not a bodywork guy but with some research it seems I think I could do it maybe not badass but at least passable. This is going to inspire life back into my F2.
