That was what I was gonna go with, a black that would look wet all the time, but I havent really decided yet since I'm still not convinced by either or. I love the black wheel, but since mine is just a street/for looks bike I dont know if I will leave the lip polished and the spoked red, so it can contrast with the fairings.

Did you use the krylon gloss black or did you use another brand fort he wheels?

I've seen a few blue bikes, not mine yet lol, that have gloss black spokes and blue lips. It's kind of a anodized blue, cones in a can from Eastwood. Getthe rim like your gonna polish it then paint the tinted clear ( guessing here as I have not used it) then clear over. Looks good on a street/show bike. Just food for thought....

i wanted to go with the red spokes and polished lip and see how that looks, I saw it on a red r1 and it looked nice, he also had a red swingarm but I dont know about that yet.

All my wheels are in the original gloss black, that's what I was saying about the touch up paint being so sweet, cuz it matches the gloss black perfectly.

Keep in mind, this is what my bike looked like when I first got it, with very low miles, and very well cared for... it looked extremely close to brand new! I don't think the wheels had a single knick in them anywhere!

I really miss having such a perfect stock example!

Anyway, with wheels, it's powder-coating all the way, there's no way I would try to spray paint them, they take too much abuse!
I'm not saying it can't be done, not by a long shot, but wheels, swingarm, and maybe even the frame, are items that I will only powder-coat.

So you powder coated the wheel you just bought recently?

I would have to call some paint shops and see if somebody even powder coats in town. Ofcourse this would only be if I were to go with an all black wheel, if I go polished and red spokes, I will just paint it myself, I dont think the spokes get too much of grease and brake dust if I clean it often.

Nope, that one is original as well, though it looked horrible - that came about from serious cleaning and some Honda touch-up paint on the many scratches... it's the worst looking wheel I have, but from 2 feet away, it looks brand new.

Not bad Jeff, guess that was a score. Well I'll see what I can do with mine, first I have to remove everything and prep it.

By the way, I don't know how I missed it before , but until your last pics, I hadn't noticed the right side of your tank being all funk-i-fied, is that a mound of bondo on there?

Yea, previous previous previous owner (As in the guy I bought it from the first time lol) fell and I guess dented the tank. When I bought it from him it had the piece of bondo they put on but it was being held by a sticker, I didnt like it either so I took it off. I have a friend who says will fix it for $40, which imo isn't bad.

well I went with the red spokes, the color is banner red. Let me know what you guys think. I think it will look good with both wheels like this but I'll have to wait and see. well I went with the red spokes, the color is banner. Let me know what you guys think.
