Engine Dying...Please help!
Hello all! I am new to the forum. I purchased a 91 F2 about a month ago for $500. It wasn't running when I bought it...nothing major... a few odds and ends where missing. Anyway, we cleaned the carbs and put a new gas tank on it. The bike started right away, we think the carbs need to be sync'd and needs new CCT. Now the problem is that if I ride for about 2 or 3 miles the bike seems to hesitate and then it dies, it runs fine until then. So, it will not start again unless I let it sit for a few minute and then it will only start if I twist the throttle a bit. Could this be a carb problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Thank you.

RE: Engine Dying
I can offer about as much help as MT wallet, but anyways after purchasing a bike like that for 500$, There is a few things I would wanna do. Change the spark plugs, possibly the battery if needed, cam chain tensioner lifter (get the APE one, its stupidly simple to install on our f2's). If your still having issues I would point at the carbs and I would think you need to get new jets put in em. Old jets can clog and get gross and cause a hesitating stalling, sputtering death of the motor! You mentioned that you think the carbs need to be synced, did the bike ever have a non-stock exhaust? or does it now?

Sorry...I forgot to mention that it does have a Yoshi pipe. The bike of course has new plugs. The CCT does need to be replaced but should not cause this problem. I really think it is a fuel issue but not sure. I haven't had a chance to get into it too much.
