Okay, so CBR of the Month voting is tight, I'm competing against some real nice looking bikes!

Like I mentioned in my "plug for votes" thread, someone is campaigning Mattson's bike, and it is indeed a fine looking F2, but if you appreciate the work that has gone into the street F2 (the Repsol replica), and honestly feel that it's the best of the choices, then get over there and vote!
If you honestly feel that one of the other bikes is simply better, and/or a lot more work has gone into it, then please don't vote at all!!
The thread is here: https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-month...thread-150840/ help me out subscribers!!

Think it`s safe to call it, Congratulations JNS! At first the competition seemed tight but in the end I got beaten, spanked and stomped between the floorboards! You seem to have managed to muster up quite an impressive heap of votes I must say. Absolutely no shame in losing to you, almost makes me want to say that the better man (and bike) won this time.

Oh well, at least I can say "second only to the greatest F2 out there"

Well, your F2 looks damn sweet, so either way, it's cool that an old codger of a bike will probably take it - I know there's still about 12 hours left, but the gap in votes for the streetfighter and F4i to cover are likely insurmountable at this late stage... both of those bikes look really nice, too.

Now, I'm just anxious for winter to vacate the premises, as I've got stuff to do!! We had snow again earlier this week, it melted quickly though - now it's cold, windy, and raining, and we're supposed to get more snow this weekend!
I've had enough this year!

Thanks Gary! And yes, it was really close for a bit.

Word! The roads here are currently icing up - I mean, if you take a short run and stop, you'll slide like you were ice skating! And on top of that we are to get snow again starting this evening.

So it seems that we are finally done with snow here, though it did snow just a smidge on Sunday morning, and it's still quite cold overnight - I finally got around to giving the street bike a much needed washing:

On the race bike... I finally got the wheels properly balanced.
I had been running Dyna Beads for the last two seasons, and quite honestly, I have NOT had any issues whatsoever, but I did learn from the Dyna Beads site, that they are not recommended for racing, so I went ahead and balanced the wheels externally.

Had to do a quick googling, so these dynabeads are like some material that you put inside your tire? Hm, might look into them as my car is notorious for collecting ice and crap inside the rear rims... are they expensive?

Familiar looking sticker on the baseplate of that balancer

They are very tiny ceramic beads, which dynamically balance the tire as it rotates. Expensive? I cannot remember what I paid, but I don't think it was much - you use 1oz in the front wheel, and 2oz in the rear - on a car, you would probably want to use 2oz or 3oz per wheel, I suppose.

Edit: it looks like the 2oz quantities are just under $6 US each, and the 3oz size is $7 US each.

Below is the site I always ordered them from, though they are sold by many merchants, and there is a local bike shop that uses them for tire jobs they do, so I even considered seeing if I could buy them directly from them, so as to save unnecessary shipping costs.
