By the time I packed everything up, they had pulled the time sheets, and the staff were already heading back to the race org's headquarters... the times still have not been posted on the site, so I'm anxiously awaiting this!
The above was something I posted in the middle of July, following the last race weekend I was at HPT - this was the round before last.
I finally got a printing of the lap times from the race on Sunday, and I was indeed right about going faster during that race.

I ran 6 laps under my previous best lap, three of which were 1 1/2 seconds faster, and one that was almost 2 1/2 seconds faster... this is where I'm going again, next weekend, and I hope I can go faster yet.

I'm officially a Cycle Gear supported racer, and I just got my packet last week, so I got the bike branded the bike with Cycle Gear/Cycle Gear Racing logos.

I finally played around with mountings for the new camera - I have a mounting point on the front, and one on the side, but since the body work is so thin, and moves around so much in the wind, I'm not super happy with the shakiness of the test footage, and that was at low speeds around the neighborhood.
I think a mount on the front-most portion of the tank, and another on the tail, would be best, but I will need to get more flat adhesive mounts.

Front...

Side...

Where did you get the clips your using on the brake caliper bolts for safety wiring?

Those could sure come in handy....

**Nevermind** I found them on KurveyGirl.com.

Yes, they are indeed quite handy!

You can get them from KurveyGirl.com, eBay, even a lot of hardware stores have them - they are referred to as safety wire "speed pins", "spring clips", "safety pins"... or you could buy my race bike, and I'll throw in all the spare spring clips I've got, which is quite a handful!!

Default Round 6 Race Report

I'm sad to say that this "Race Report" involves no racing at all
The issue that surfaced at GMP, returned, and I only got 1 full session in, and a few laps in a couple of other sessions.

I was still leaning heavily toward it being a rich fueling issue, as this thing has run perfectly at all rounds before GMP in August, and it was so humid there - since it was also somewhat humid in the early part of this last Saturday, I decided to pursue that resolution.

I tore the bike all the way down to carb removal, replaced the 142 mains with 140, and pulled the shim out of all the needles - next time out on track, the issue quickly returned, though this time it seemed to be intermittent.

Also, I dragged my shift-side rearset during the first of the short sessions, bending it a bit, and while I was straightening it back out, it snapped , so I had to borrow a rather tattered OEM unit from a fellow F2 racer... it ain't pretty, but it did the job for as long as I needed it to!

At any rate, since I had no intention of racing this machine past this season, I'm working toward a new bike - I have a short list of likely culprits for the issue, and when I confirm it's fixed, the F2 race bike will be for sale.

I will be skipping the final round, at NCM in Kentucky, to make more funds available for the new machine.

Lawdy, I wish, I don't have anywhere near that kind of money right now!

I'll be picking up an ex AMA Supersport 600RR - the deal is not sealed yet, so I won't say too much, but something will be happening with that this weekend... BUT, I must get the race bike sold very soon, in order for this to work out!

But that doesn't mean you're gonna leave this forum, right? 'Cause we're many that are dependent on your skills whenever something happens to our beloved bikes, JNS.
