wont start with button, but push starts
your battery is dead from all the cranking, did you get it at walmart? it was bad from the beginning...
ignition system needs atleast 12 volts to work. its not getting that when you use the starter.
how is your positive battery cable? is it corroded? the wire is made of aluminum. crappy design.
use jumper cables, hook it up to a non running car battery, and tell us if it starts.

they may have not charged it 100%
ill check on the cable
and ill try the car when i can. i work a lot this week so i may have to put it on hold a few days
i got it to start with the button again!
im so happy!
tired of looking like a nerd running with the bike and jumping on to push start it :P
cleaned every wire connection, and the battery terminals and such.
still no starting, as well as no pulsing of the fuel pump and no spark
but i had 12v cranking. so i was like wtf!!!
so i pulled the cover over the pulse generator. and i found this stuck to the lower pulse generator!

as well as the post for that side of the generator bent outward a little. so i made it perpendicular to the base and pulled the metal piece out. and put everything back together. and gave her a try!
ive gotten used to trying to start it and modulating the throttle...so i tried and the throttle was halfway cracked...it took maybe two revolutions of cranking to fire up and rev'd to like 6k :P
soooooo in conclusion, than you guys for guiding me along the way to making her start!
took a few months (cause i was ok with pushing it until it started getting cold here) but i got it nevertheless!
now i just need to sort out what i want to do with the tail, and sync the carbs and she should be good for a while! could probably use a chain lube as well...

good job getting it figured out man. any idea what that peice of metal is from?
i used to have to push start my bike when hot, and was pretty good at it, but sometimes i would crush my nuts hoping on... then i replaced my positive battery cable, cleaned electrical contacts, and things have been all good since.
