Default RE: valve question

Provided I keep my Hurricane(not looking like I will though) I'll do as many writeups as I can when I put her back together.

sorry I forgot to do some writeups for people, I was kinda tired and really pissed when I put it all back together(had to ride my bicycle to an appointment and got rained on on the way home, so yeah.

BUT, I've got her together, fixed and running like she's sposed to. I think my bike gained a good bit of compression/power from just cleaning the valves real good and setting everything properly.

You're getting an older bike and you think it will be less work? Parts more available? Maybe ... maybe not. At least you know the 'cane inside & out. And you love it (really, deep down).

I've been thinking about carboned up valves - IMHO its normally due to underutilising the engine's power. Y'need to give it a good thrash, well, not a thrash but y'know, open it up. Regularly. They love it, so do I. Give it a good blast with heaps of acceleration - say ranging through 7-10 thou revs (not just holding the poor beast to scream its head off at high revs and not really doing anything).

If the valves are carboned up, what's the pipe & muffler like, I wonder.
