ignition issue
so i am redoing the f1 new paint and my engine had a gear problem so i did a motor swap just to another f1 motor and i hooked the ignition all up today and turned the motor over to moke sure that was good. then i sprayed some carb cleaner into the intake no carbs or anything then turned the engine over and one of the boots caught fire. so i checked the plug wires and they were all right any ideas?
sorry about being long winded

the plugs are in the wires on tight the kill switch in the on position. i just had the engine rebuilt and am wondering if maybe somthing was left out or it was timed wrong when they did that causing a backfire. the engine turns fine
i think that is a normal reaction of trying to run a motor without carbs.
when i was little, i started my go-cart with out the carb. dumping gas straight into the motor, the whole thing caught on fire.
