HELLO ALL! I'M NEW TO THE FORUM JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO. SEEN LOTS OF HELPFUL INFORMATION SO FAR SO I REALLY LIKE THE SITE. I JUST GOT MY 05 1000RR ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO AND LOVE IT. I WAS THINKING I WANT TO REMOVE THE SILVER DECALS ,WOULD ANYBODY KNOW THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS? AND WILL IT NEED TO BE CLEAR COATED ONCE THEY ARE OFF? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS IN ADVANCE. LOOK FOWARD TO BEING ON THE FORUM IN THE FUTURE.

If you manage to get the decals off you are going to have to scrub off all the decal adhesive. You might not get it all the way off. If you use a razor to remove the decals then you will scratch the plastic fairing. If you are looking to change the apperance of the bike get it painted. Taking the decal off is not an easy job especially all the silver ones you want to take off.

 

I was able to remove the bottom decals but the large ones on the side fairing and tank are clear coated over on my bike.

 

Thanks for the help! The ones on the side of the tank is the one i figured would give me a problem. I think i will try and look for a black tank cover. Would anyone have a good site to go to for a tank cover? Not a bra cover but a whole new tank fairing. Thanks again if anyone can help!
