mpg avg
I just took a tirp today5/14/06 I ran it hard for the firts part most of the time over 130mph I got 98 on the tank. I saw that my rear tire was getting bad so on the trip back I ran 70mph and got 160 with out the light coming on. My trip was 223 m round trip.
i get between 115-120 before the light comes on. this has been pretty consistent except the time i did mostly highway on one tank. i could be wrong buit i think i get about 35 mpg not 27. this is way better than my accord and definitely my suburban which i pretty much use for storage space now that gas is retarded.
anything over 140 to a tank is crazy, I want to know how! when I was stock, i could push it and get 140 to a tank( and i did run out twice since i had the bike, once to know how far i could go, and a second time cause i was lazy, but now with the pipe and filters I'm only seeing 110-120 to a tank, but when I go out i easily put over 200miles and usally have to fill up a couple times a night. I live in TX so there is plenty of road around here, especially at night! I only use 98 octane, and havent gotten the PC yet, but when I do, will I see better gas mileage or what?
I use it mainly to commute to work across farmlands. I open it up a little (100 mph+) when there's *no* traffic, and sometimes I blast off with a low wheelie off a stop sign. Absolutely nothing stupid in town when there are people to watch. No point in giving the cops an excuse to ruin my day.
I consistently go 135-150 miles until the light comes on. Today it was 145 miles. That comes out to about 40 mpg. Not bad for a machine that will out-accelerate a Ferrari
My co-worker has a 2004 R-6, and his mileage is almost identical. We fuel up at the same time and each require the same amount of fuel to top off for the same trip. I'll take the CBR1000 performance for the same 40mpg fuel economy though! Have to admit that his lighter R-6 handles nicer though.

You can't beat that.
