Hmmm.... I don't know what shocks me more... the fact that you get 152 miles out of your tank, or the fact that you do 170 MPH on your way home from work and you are "Mr. Safety" in most of these posts.
I said it before and I'll say it agin. Chain, you crack my *** up bro!

if i fill up as soon as the light comes on i put 14 litres in usually to full, that means i`ve nearly always got 4 litres left (18) when the reserve light comes on. I ride at general speeds as the traffic allows, i do tend to stay in the lower gears though and don`t change up unless the speed i`m doing warrants it which will use more fuel. The journeys to work normally always incude at least one 2mile 140mph stint on a dual carriageway nearby. 100 miles n the light normally comes on i`ve started to expect it.

Anubis -- so if you got 4 liters left then you got 1 liter more than me when your light comes on -- that could account for some of it. Also if I'm just cruising at 80ish I run it all the way to 6th for economy ... unless I see someone on a cell phone[8D]

Well, I am "Mr. Safety", sort of. I won't do any ludicrous speed stuff unless I can see wide open spaces in front of me (see avatar). And unless a cager pisses me off I won't weave in and out of traffic. If they do **** me off all rules are off. But my first love has always been high speed so I'm gonna rip some gears eventually -- my aim is to do it as safely as possible.

I get a real consistant 120 miles to the fuel light in around twon riding
Sry i should of made it more clear on my original post my avg mpg was 180 at my best and this was during the beakin period where i
was taking it easy on the bike. everything on the bike was stock at the time. since then i have put on an akrapovic full exhaust system
and power comander III. with a generic map from power comander havent had a chance to get it to a dyno to have a custom map made yet. as it is now my mpg is 133-140. if i take it easy i can reach 160-165. this is before the yellow lightcomes on. as far as everyone with lower mpgs even when i dog the bike i still get 128 or better. thx for everyones replies

Hi i am surprised that most people are getting well over a 100mpg before the light comes on because i get the light on at around 100 miles i thought this was ok as this is my first 1000 dont know what to expect .But i dont give it as much yet as i do on my 600 cbr as still getting used to it. i have had power commander & K&n & sports pipe with no valve . I thought mine was running rich as pops hell of a lot when coming down but sounds awesome and feels like there is a hesitation between 2000-4500 then goes like a cruise missile i was wondering if anybody else bike has similar symptoms and if they have fixed it as is it just they way the bike is ?,if i slip clutch for a second then picks up instantly .i am going to get put on dyno and remapped as i think will sort this out as all maps on power c website dont help .Love the bike it is perfect[sm=badbadbad.gif]
Yeah exactly the same and i`m in the UK too, First the pops (which i like too) are caused by the p.a.i.r device on our bikes. Secondary air intake. Second the hesitation as you call it was helped first by removing the exhaust valve, then by replacing the can with a Yoshi rs5. Then by adding a pc3 and getting a custom map, it`s like a whole new bike now pulls hard from 2k revs.
Complete Stock and i get 130-135 miles consistantly before the light comes on with mostly short rides......
Question....You guys getting 150-180 miles before the light come on.......Have you guys re-geared or anthing that would throw your speedo and the odo off or do you just have long highway rides.....I think you guys are puling the old NASCAR trick with storing fuel in the frame......LOL [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]
