air filter change

Default air filter change

alright... the other day i decided to check the air filter b/c my bike had close to 5k on it.. took off the tank cover and realized that this was not like my old bikes and looks like a pain in the dick to change... anyone ever do this?

It is a pain in the ***, tank cover off, front tank bolts, the tank is hinged once the front bolts are out it raises up. you will then have the access you need to get to the filters. Mine where dirty as hell at 8000 miles, I replaced with the power robbing K&N's. My bike is so slow now

its not that hard,
go to www.hooliganbiketech.net and look up BMC filters. there are some pictures to guide you through the installation.

and if you want to go with another brand than oem go with the BMC race for more hp (only 2 supposedly but hey) or the bmc street for reusable oem performance.

mine oem ones stayed on until the 16000 mile servbicing and didn't look realy bad. i had the dealer put on the BMC filters they had in stock.

Hey Baxsom,
Thanks for your post on Hooligan bike tech.Changing the air filter seems difficult, but really wasn't after all. This site really helps and points out importants things to remember like drain lines when putting your bike back together. Thanks again.
