10W40 is correct but make sure it is either motorcycle specific oil or that it does not have the markings of energy conserving oil on the bottle. You don't want to make your clutch slip.
The stock air filter does not use oil. Only the K&N and BMC aftermarket filters.

10w40 is the way to go, though there is nothing wrong with running 5w40 also.

Just make sure it's JASO MA or MA2 rated and you're golden.
