Might just take you 40 days and 40 nights to get out of a desert straight!
The only thing I have done lately is "Ride Captain Ride upon my 1000F ship!" Did all the services while the snow was on the ground (until April!). Today is 92 degrees F and no wind. Killer riding weather and lots of bikes heading up to Pyramid Lake (yes, there are lakes in the desert). Google it...
I drove from Pheonix to Las Vegas to San Francisco once (and a hell of a lot of places in between). You aren't kidding one bit, Nevada, and if I had my 'Cane when I was doing it....it would have taken half the time and would have been twice as fun!!
Tell you what... waking up to snow in flagstaff was the last thing i expected after a 80F day....neat!
I did pick up a stranded Harley rider in the middle of the night, though. I couldn't have done that on the 'Cane.. or should I say "wouldn't".
Boy, was he happy to see me!! It was like 1am, in the middle of nowhere, and he was covered in oil. He said it just started spitting oil all over him..
I hadn't seen another car in hours, so who knows how long he ad been there!
BTW, I didn't do anything to the CBR today.. I cleaned it some yesterday, though.. I need to clean it REALLY good, and take some updated pics for the "pics thread" and possibly ROTM???? Who knows! I just don't feel that the old F'ers are representin'.
Oh, I also bought a 12V outlet today to mount up for my GPS, etc. I waited until now because I knew they would be coming out with the cool waterproof outlets for mounting in boats. Had to get one of those...

Replaced the camchain.
Left one of the small metal parts out of the cam covers, and as I don't know which one I'll have to take them all off.

At least I saw it before putting the rocker box back !
Waiting for starter clutch to arrive from the USA.

Hi Pete - you certainly got the "work" bug!
Let us all learn from your experience - which part did you leave out?
Did you happen to talke any photos of the CC replacement? Any tips?
Good luck with the starter clutch job.
Here I'm still doing 450km Sundays with the club and all's going well.
Take care....
Pics attached of the bits
the o rings fit over one of the connecting dowels part no 3 in the second picture.
I didn't have this problem two years ago when I last did this- must have bumped the camcovers putting them down - COULD have ended in the engine so I guess I was lucky - fell to the carpet.

Hi Pete - thanks for the photos and the inherent lesson for us all. Much appreciated.
Separately Pete, there is something I must take you to task over. In these tough economic time I think it a bit much for the rest of us with you bragging about that new floor covering in your garage. Not many of us can strip down our engine and have the luxury of parts fall on the carpet!!!!

Keep well Pete.

Ah well, I guess I'll take stick for that for a while, Martin.
Maybe I'll be on the carpet for being on the carpet...............
Mea culpa, but my old knees need as much help as they can get.
I did take pictures the last time I did this, and will look for them if anyone needs 'em.
