Got a set of GBM handlebar risers.

I'll fit them tomorrow.

Last night I changed the oil and filter. Switched to Amsoil. Today it is officially on the road. I road into work, 42 miles one way. It was 45 F with heavy fog in spots. We've had a cold wet spring. I missed my taget date to be on the road by almost a month.

OK so today I was going to do oil , filter , and rear pads . But ended up just doing the rear pads as it turned out to be a bugger of a job .

The bike was made in '91 and I don't think the rear pads have been changed since! The pistons were welded in there and it was a ba5tard of a job getting them out . Wouldn't budge , not even hooking them back up to the brake line and pumping them , how they ever worked god only knows , but not very well obviously!

Had to go to the shop and rig up a makeshift puller to get them out . So a 45min job turned into the best part of the day , thought I'd leave the oil change for the time being. Missus was starting to get a bit miffed

Took her out for a good run this evening and the rear brake works a treat now , still bedding in but vastly improved!

Pulled my forks out, time to do fork seals. And brakes. And tires. Funny how it adds up. Hope to be riding again by the end of next week.

Riding back and forth from work like every day, broke a piston on the old kawasaki so until she's back on the road, the 1000f is covering for her.
Looking forward to my first track day just a week away, will change oil and filter before.

I'm riding in a Poker Run today. It is a charity ride with stops where you pick up a playing card They give out prizes for the best and worst poker hands at the end of the ride. The registration money is for a local charity. Bike riders love a good cause, don't they!?

Charity runs are a great excuse to get yer bike out and meet up with like minded folk. Never heard of a Poker Run before, sounds like a great idea though. Good luck and no cheating (5 aces). Post up some pics if you can.
