New cam chain is in. Hope to do last tweeks to CCT mod this week and install. I borrowed heavily from Henry's mod and hope for his kind of success. I have documented with pics along the way so I can share if this is a good working iteration.

5 months in the garage, was going to sell my CBR 1000 f, four turns later she fired up that sound, feel in love again. Cleaned her up lots of oil and lub slowly rubbing. Insured MOT tomorrow, she's back

I dropped mine today! First time in 9 years I've dropped a bike but old man winter won't let go... I hit a little patch of ice on the way to work this morning at a 4way stop and it kicked right out from under me while I was turning. No harm done though really, damage was restricted to the plastic engine protector. Funny thing is I was planning on stripping off the fairings this weekend for paint anyway so it couldn't have worked out better. I just picked it up and took right off, the bike didn't seem to care at all!

So I was all pumped last season to sand down my spray-bombed tank to find a nice paint job. I never thought I'd be doing this again but unfortunately my clearcoat job didn't make it through this past sub zero winter. So the bike I bought with a crappy black spray can finish will again have a spray can finish! Hopefully not crappy though. At least I'm removing the decals before I spray it unlike the PO

Here's my progress today,

stripped w/ Aircraft stripper:

Bondo'd the elbow ding in the tank:

That's all for today while I wait for the bondo to cure. I just went over it all with 220 wet paper. Hope to sandsandsand tomorrow. Still gotta get to my fairings yet

Thanks Hawk, it sure is!
Must have been something in the air that day (or on the road in my case), my buddy dropped his '70 Triumph just a few hours after I did. He's a good rider too, just goes to show it happens every now and then I guess.

It sure can happen to anyone. I have a buddy who was a factory rider for Suzuki back in the day and he layed down his 88 CBR when he ran over some sand at about 10mph. He said "the light turned green and then I was on the ground." Personaly, I didn't even have sand to blame. Glad you are ok.
