Default At it again..

Today I "installed" an Ebay car cellphone holder.. I actually just let the holder slide down in between the windscreen and instrument-cluster.. Fits perfect and sits tight enough..
Only downside is, that I can't really see the warning-lights, but it's a Honda, right???
Btw the phone in use is a Sony Xperia Z, which is waterproof, in case you wonder..

I might be cutting of the metal mounting bit, but we'll see

So my '90 has some '94 (I believe) plastics off a black/grey/red model that a previous owner installed and painted all black. I was fine with that except that they simply spray bombed the tank... right over the stock decals and the paint was pretty shoddy at best. I decided it was time to put some good black paint on it.

I had a spare tank so I've been running this beautiful red white and blue one for a bit:

I started sanding the black one today. I always thought it would be cool if I could just sand off the black and get that stock paint back, well it kinda worked! Way better than I expected too:

Couple bits that need touch up as far as the black and grey go. I also plan to pop the dent on the top. After that I'll color-sand the whole thing, buff it then clearcoat it. After that I'll move on to the fairings. Should be back to stock paint before long!

Installed the center stand I picked up from ebay to replace the one that was missing from my 87 1000F when I bought it.
(Thanks to this site and to Sprock for posting pics on how the "C" bracket goes and the tip on how to get the spring extended so that it could be attached)

Ha! Well done Drewski.

I had exactly the same issue with undercoat/black sprayed over the original paint AND decals on the '87. I'm nowhere near as far along as you, but I did start the upper cowl.

Unbelievable what some previous owners will do!

Cheers, SB

Great stuff Jakob,

So how did you mount it on the front of the dash?

Cheers, SB
