Did some adjusting to the rear suspension, riding better for my weight now. Then fixed the hose going to the radiator reservoir, and I'm waiting on my new brakes so I can get some stopping power back and delink the brake system while I'm at it

^ De-linking won't get you more braking power but you will be able to put the drag on the wheels where you need it, when you want it.

I need to get up to Sprocks place because I have questions a question about the subject. Things that cb2cbr and I may benefit from because he de-linked as well. Its the rear master cylinder in question.

I'll do that for sure Sprock. Does anyone else here have one ?? I've paid a deposit and its being manufactured now. I have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for its arrival but that's ok it will give me the time I need to pay for it....lol. Seeing as they are built in Germany I now understand the waiting time. The bike should feel awesome with this in it.

well I've heard that delinking the brakes and connecting all 3 pistons on the front with the stock master cylinder makes it feel soggy and it'll just kinda grab outta nowhere. I've not delinked mine so I don't know how true this is but I was thinking if you get the front master cylinder from a '91 or older if that'll help with that issue. That's one of the reasons I want to start with not connecting the center piston on the fronts and get my hands on the master cylinder for a pre '92. Those calipers only have 2 pistons so that may do it up right, but I'm not sure of the piston size so there's no telling from my end haha

Brakes on CBR1000f (Series 3 only <1993 on>) are linked by Honda's 'Combined Braking System'. Whereby pulling the front brake lever activates pistons in the front calipers while also activating lesser pressure on pistons in the rear caliper. Likewise depressing the rear brake will activate pistons on the rear caliper and also applying lesser pressure to pistons of each front caliper. The system works very well, especially on the road. But when things get down and dirty (eg - on loose surfaces, dragging the rear brake when going downhill or for "racing") some riders would prefer to rely on a conventional system.

De-linking reverts the system to a conventional system, for those who prefer to rely on a conventional system.

The biggest reason I want to delink is cause I'm use to the conventional system and like having control of the front and back brakes separately. According to the diagram when you engage the back brakes it only applies pressure the center piston on the front brakes so if you happen to hit the back brakes kind of hard it shouldn't apply enough force to the front brakes to cause the nose to dive too badly or lock up and send you for a cartwheel, but everyone has their own preferences

Ran my Morgan Carbtune on the 90 - she was off kinda like 4 bars on a mobil phone
from left to right- she's spot on now - idles like a purring tiger - goes a like lightening
- tho there's a slight flat spot at the upper mid rpm - may pull a shim out to lean it
a smidge and see if that corrects it - may even spring for a set of clip style needles
for it

Must say the Carbtune is a slick piece of syncing kit for the carbs

I did end up grinding off the stop tab for the gas tank hinge so as to prop it open wider

I have a motionpro carb sync and when I hooked it up to my bike it sucked all the fluid out... Yes I have the brass fittings that go in the lines to minimize vacuum. When I was adjusting the #1 carb the #2 on the carb sync would move with it so then I tried to adjust #3 and that's when I noticed all the fluid at the top of my sync
