Default Tire size

What size are you going with for the rear tire?

I went with the 180 on the rear tire. I have the larger rim on mine.

The total for 2 tires mounted and balanced. Just over 450

Pics will follow when they are in and on the bike.

$450/set!!??
I hope these tires give reach-arounds.

The 3's do look pretty sweet, but I don't know how a tire could get much better than the PR2. The PR2 is just an awesome tire.

I doubt you'll have anything bad to say about the 3's, either.

This tyre being released only tomorrow here downunder in Oz. Wanting to get them but just noticed the rear currently on the bike is a 180x55 and thought Id get that size in PR3, but I see the handbook notes size 170x60 and the current 180 is in fact rubbing on the chain guard that wore away a small section of it. Then the sites on PR3 conflict itself, one says 170 available the other doesnt show any 170's.

any advice appreciated, am new to this model.

update; Ive decided to go for the OEM size of 170, only hope they will have a 170 in PR3.

I couldn't wait for the release. My rear was so far beyond legal that I had to get a new PR2 last week. Our local shop said they didn't have any idea when the new ones were coming - and one of the young sales guys hadn't even heard of a PR3.

If your 180 is rubbing the chain guard, make sure that the front end of the guard is hooked to the small loop on the swingarm. This pulls the inner edge of the guard away from the tire. BTDT*

I just bent the bracket on the chain guard to the left a smidge to clear the 180.
