How much wind to tip over a bike while parked????
I live in Seattle...where the wind blows often during the winter months. My bike is parked under a carport and I've wondered a bit about when to get concerned.....
How much wind to tip over a bike while parked???? Without a garage where I live I've put it in my greenhouse for some of the bigger storms...but have been nervous when I am at work and left it out while it's been moderately windy.
I've thought about rigging up some tie downs but they would be tough to use with the cover on. With wind usually comes rain here so it's a tough call what to do....sometimes i remove the cover so it doesn't tear.
Anyone had one tip over from the wind? How much wind do you think it would take?

The odd gust can put the bike over. I had mine outside last year and the wind blew it onto its footstand. Did'nt notice straight away, but gave me a shock when it did. 45 - 50 mph gusts were to blame.

A gust of wind at Phiilip Island a few years ago knocked my R1150GS and my dads massive GL1800 over, luckily the grass was soft...
Here in Phx I worry about how much my bike sinking too far into the asphalt and falling over....not too much wind. The math for my parking spot at work goes; 600lb bike + 110* + Asphalt = TONS of divets. LOL.
I would think that a 1kF on its sidestand (they lean over A LOT) would be pretty hard to get over (either way) with just the wind!
