Default Help!!!L

Hi guys, I believe I have a bad stator. My bike shut down, and will start on a jump start, run for about 5 minutes, then shut down again. I replaced the battery & regulator. No change. I've checked the voltage from the stator and get nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Other guys can help with further testing, but if you need one I found them to be cheapest here:

1991 Honda CBR1000F A GENERATOR | MRCycles

(#1 "cover assembly") Exact same OEM Hitachi part. And it's literally a 3 bolt job. Hardest part was getting the O-ring to stay put.

The bike is fixed. It was determined that the stator was the problem. A local man here in the Dallas area reached out to me & was kind enough to help me out. I can't thank him enough.

Word of caution to folks about detailed and correct diagnosis. My son's 1986 Ninja 1000R stalled on him during a fast turn and nearly high-sided him. He got it under control, but the bike wouldn't start. Long story shortened...got the bike back to Dad's Garage (cheap labor) and we determined that the voltage regulator was fried. Most people would probably just have ordered another regulator, put it in, and be done with it. But we diagnosed deeper...after all, what made the regulator go bad? It turns out that one of the alternator rotor windings shorted to itself. There was a small but noticeable difference in resistance compared to the specs. The new regulator would have been fried as well. So just some friendly advice for all, always dig deeper to find the true root cause of the problem, or your repairs might have to be done again. I'm very glad you're up and running again.
