1988 CBR100F - How do I remove the airbox???
Hi All,
Newbie here. Apparently my manual doesn't cover the 1988 model because the instructions for removing the airbox don't appear to be right. I've tried everything; short of removing the carbs!! Any ideas???

...and even with the carbs removed it`s a royal PITA to get out. I`m not even entirely certain if it`s MEANT to come out without dropping the engine.
Loosen the boots at the carb, there are some bolts at the air box that need to be loosened. The box slides back. Loosen the carb boots at the head and rotate the carbs downward. This removes the carbs. The box can now be removed, but you don't need to do that now because the carbs are now out.
You will need something to help put leverage on the carbs to rotate them downward for removal. Sometimes I use two large screwdrivers wrapped with rags, stick in each outboard carb to help with removal. Be careful not to hurt the butterflies.
