Handle bar vibration
Anyone has the problem of hands getting numb after a 200 + miles ride due to handle bar vibration???
I found 2 things to reduce it and make your ride more comfortable, but have not tried them out yet.
I was wondering, if anyone here has had experience with these 2 products.
The first one is heavier bar ends by SALAMANDER and the second one is BAR SNAKE.
Do they work as advertised, do they fit our stock bars and how was the installation???
Any other tip to minimize vibration aside from Noeprene Foam Grips.

I removed the bar end on my bike, but the insert I could not get out.
Is a special tool required???
There is a weird pressure washer around the Aluminum insert.
Anyone's help is appreciated.

I got the insert out, it is in there held by a pressure metal washer.
Once removed, you need a new one if you are not replacing the bar end weight.
I just ordered a pair of MANIC SALAMANDER Bar End weights.
I will report as soon as I get them installed and go test riding with them next week.[8D]

It could also be the glove design.
Good quality ones like the more expensive Alpinestars range have a curved palm.
Also grips help. A big thick foam grips can sometimes be worse. I use Harris Grips.

Thanks for the input.
I have thick foam grip wrap arounds and did not know that it made numbness worse.
I will try out without them next Saturday, plus also I ordered new grips,
Pro Gel 713 to replace stock ones.
The gloves are Fieldsheers, with gel foam pads and are very comfy.

One of the first things I did when I first bought my bike was to replace the grips with some GOOD aftermarket foam units. Not too thick though.
I rarely get numb hands anymore. I also wear gel padded gloves (Mechanix).

The service section in Cycle World magazine mentioned this recently. It seems you have to determine if it's vibration that's causing the numbness or leaning all your weight on your wrists. If it's the weight, you can raise your bars with aftermarket spacers or new bars.
I fixed that problem with a set of GenMar risers, rised up up the stock bars about 3/4 of an inch. Super easy to install and makes long rides enjoyable. GenMar Risers
