Default Handle bar vibration...

I dropped my bike while stopped a couple of days ago and have replaced the bar end weights. It now feels like there is more vibration from in the handle bars in general and when I'm going about 80-90kms if I let go of the bars they actually start to shake. Can anyone tell me if this is from the new bar weights or if I could of damaged the front suspension.

Cheers people

when you put your front tire straight does the handlebar match the position or is it off? look at your forks when you sit on the bike looking down for any curve or something not straight.
When you brake does it vibrate too? that could be the rotor

I don't see how the bar weights would cause this... you could always take them off and see if it stops. How bad was the drop? Did the front hit anything or did you just lay it down on its side? Is the lead weight missing from the front wheel... the one used to balance it?

if the handlebars are physically moving/shaking then i really doubt it from the bar weights. i agree with don and check the rim for weights and any other previously unseen damage. ive went through 4 different sets of bar ends trying to cut down on vibration and they all seemed to be about the same.

The weights on the rim are to balance it. When they manufacture wheels... they're not perfect. So you have them balanced by using a machine to spin the wheel and take reading where it's off balanced. Then you add weights to stop vibrations that you would feel at high speeds.

The bar end weights are also there to reduce vibration you'd feel in the clip-ons.

Just to add.....

Whhels are normally minimally off balance the weights are more for the tyre. The bar end weights can effect vibration, but it depends on what you mean by vibration? a little or a lot? I`d check all the points mentions by Don but using different bar ends other than stock will makle a difference in vibration more so on the hands.
