It doesn't really make any difference to me. Just saying there is REAL WORLD references to different materials being used. You probably woudn't notice any difference on a short ride and there was no claim for any difference in appearance.
A lot of people read the press releases on equipment and rely on the journalists to provide accurate impressions. They are fed the info about changes by the manufacturer.
There is no conspiracy to discredit your credibility here. I just happened to be flipping through a March 2006 issue where that change was noted. That is all.

REAL WORLD side by side for me, BIG DIFFERENCE. I just put on another 150 miles today without any problems at all. Would have been more, but man was it windy.

I dont why I can feel the difference but you cant. I weigh 195lbs, so I guess if your lighter? Maybe its you have 3 bikes that dont get ridden? or at least for any amount of distance. thats where the newer seat is noticable.

They are dimensionally all the same. But the foam is a different density.I know that if I take my fist, press it into each seat, the 06 seat gives more than the 05. Its not a ton, but it is noticable. I really didnt think it would make that much difference, but for me, its been huge.

I doubt its my seat being worn. I do have 15,000 miles on it, but the seat has never been comfortable. I have never been able to ride far without it being a problem. Now that I have the 06 seat, its fine. I have no issues whatsoever with riding long distances now. Plus, I still have my 04 seat that only has 4,000 miles on it, and its just as hard as my 05.

If anyone wants to try it, thats great. If not, it doesnt really matter. I was just sharing what turned out to be a good investment for me. I certainly wouldnt be telling people to do something that didnt work for me.
