Default SoCalo Skill Lessons

I heard from someone that many SoCal areas offer Free Saturday parking lot lessons for newbies usually called "skill sessions" or something like that where veteran riders volunteer their time to give tips and overlook what you're doing right and wrong and help to improve basic skills. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks

I for one have never heard of this but it does not mean its a bad idea, it actually makes good sense to pass down good riding habits How long have you been riding? are you riding an RR or F-series are you properlly geard up?

I just got my bike a week ago. Its an F2. I haven't ridden it yet since I dont have gear yet. I plan on getting my permit in a week or so, and I have a friend who will sell me his icon helmet and joe rocket jacket for cheap. Dont know when Ill have money for the rest of the gear but I dont plan on riding without at least gloves and shin/knee protectors (aside from jacket+helmet)

Heres my bike.

Thats a nice lookin ride I've asume you've riden a motorcycles before so you do get the whole clutch gas thing right? just take it slow find yourself a large parking lot where there are no cars around and practice riding around get used to right and left turns stopping and accelerating and so forth. If your gona take your skills test on that bike go to your local DMV and scope out there skills test area if you can't do it on that bike you'll have to find a small street legal enduro to do the test on, or take the "motorcycle safety course" its like a 2 day instructional on honda 250 rebels and they teach you all the safety stuff, you get a cert at the end when you pass and you give that to the DMV and they take that in leu of a skills test at the DMV

Kinda of big leap there ^^ quads and 2 wheeled bikes are completly 2 differant kinds of animals. You will find the ballance on a sport bike odd at first but I quess if you have never ridden any other kinda 2 wheeled bike then you won't feel any differance, just take it slow. The MSF coarse is a great idea sounds like your makin all the right choices
